The Camera That Poops out Pics

Takara Tomy's XIAO Tip-521 which is based on ZeronInk Technology. It has a 5MP, 2.48” LCD, 16MB of internal memory (including a SD/SDHC slot) and it poops out pics. This is reminiscent of Polaroid cams of yore. Honestly what made me write about this is the advertising photo (above) which you wont dare look at while eating.

Twilight Comes To The Philippines

Filipino web portal Yehey! recently reported this article about a Filipino remake of the hit film Twilight(which was an adaption on a best selling book series) aptly called Takipsilim. It will star Rayver Cruz as Edward Cullen and Shaina Magdayao as Isabella Swan other casts are Valeen Montenegro as Alice Cullen, Gabby Concepcion as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, Luis Manzano as Emmett Cullen, Al Tantay as Charlie Swan, Yayo Aguila as Renee Dwyer, Fred Payawan as Jacob Black, Carlos Agassi as James, Chin Chin Gutierrez as Esme Cullen, Karylle as Rosalie Hale, Joross Gamboa as Jasper Hale, Jessy Mendiola as Jessica Stanley, Empress Schuck as Angela Weber, Brad Murdoch as Laurent, Nikki Bacolod as Victoria and Aaron Villaflor as Mike Newton.

Im a fan of ABS-CBN's telenovelas and I give kudos to the local adaptation of My Girl but I really hate how they do the fantasy genre. Luckily, Twilight features minimal special effects which would really be a turn off(just watch Dyosa, Anne Curtis' hotness just redeems the entire show).

UPDATE! it is now confirmed in the official ABS-CBN website

Hey Red Whats The Deal?

A week ago Jepoy informed me that former umobile subscribers can avail of the new Red mobile service(not actually but I'm guessing re-branding). I called their customer service and even if I forgot my umobile number they were able to locate my information(thanks!). I was told that I would get a Red sim with 200 load. Then when I received my sim I was surprised that there was no 200 load card with it. I contacted Jepoy first and he also got the sim the same day that I got it but he has the same sim pack but with 200 load. I called customer service, and he asked for my number and I said that I really can't remember it. He tried to do verify via my full name. Then he informed me that I was not on the list of people to receive 200 load and he said it was based on usage. This made me confused and the poor agent tried his best to answer my queries eventually I just gave up knowing that the agent was just trying to appease me.

My concerns:

1. Actually I couldn't care less about receiving 200 load but what ticks me off is the fact that I was told that I would receive said amount and wasn't able to get it.

2. Then when I first called they were able to retrieve information about me and after that they cant. I know its my fault that I lost my number but does that matter if you can do it once whats stopping you from being able to do it again?

3. The guy said that people to receive the load would be based on their former umobile usage. As far as I can remember I was able to consume my load allowance and was even trying to find someone who sells umobile load.

I don't care about the load but when you say you would do something just do it and not give a half baked promise. That really ticks me off.

Remembering Mario and Luigi's Sisters

The Great Giana Sisters was a platform game for the Atari and Commodore systems. It was an awesome platform game, but what made it awesome was also its downfall. Why? because of it's similarity to Nintendo's most famous game. Despite the threat of lawsuit from nintendo and its eventual withdrawal from the market, the game enjoys a cult following. The game makers even boldly added the tag line:"The brothers are history."

Tracy Isabel Borres

Some of the Beatitudes:
"Blessed are the poor for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"
"Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth"

Tracy Isabel Borres is the current "hot" topic of the filipino blogosphere but are her actions just a question of morality or lack of it? Why are we so appalled with what she privately wrote on her facebook account? Is it because we can relate to the Aetas and she cannot? Personally, I respect her lack of social awareness because she has the guts to say what she wants to say.

Exerpts from what she posted via Reyna Elena:

Thats just a few of what she wrote.

Her statement from Mike Abundo:
Yes I am fully aware of the gravity and extent of what is happening right now, but thank you still. =)

Someone stole it from my CONTACTS only account. Sigh sigh. Thing is i know how rude and offensive it sounded but that was because I was expecting it to be read by my friends only who understood a kind of dark quirky humor of mine that really would make other people mad. It was a post meant to be comical for my friends to laugh at… (exaggerated rudeness and ditzy-ness, although still not with some truth to it of course, i am not excusing my insensitive usage of words but hey! its funny WITH/FOR my friends!) then of course it leaked. Sigh sigh.

I am just waiting for this to blow over (as typical ‘internet sensations’ usually do), because seriously. People, focus on real issues not on some spoiled sheltered girl. Haha.

if anything, i would rather you forward my reply to the email. =)

i mean really. there are so many ppl out there who are just so ready and willing to jump at every and any opportunity to add insult to injury bec it will be inconsequential to them anyway without knowing the premises or without any sense of discernment whatsoever. i mean betrayal for leaking my entry by someone i knew was bad enough right? so now its like i cracked a yo momma joke and everyone thinks i want to kill their momma! hahaha oh sigh sigh.

again, thank you for your concern. =)

With that statement the public can now be aware that she doesn't even know what she is talking about.Things can really get out of hand really fast but fact of the matter is what is said can never be taken back. It is really hard to appreciate the poor when you haven't even experienced having an empty wallet. In fairness to the girl she really would rather party than experience a day with such people and we cannot take that from her. Do we really have to blame her in the first place? She just said what she felt was funny its really easy to make fun of what we could not understand. Truth of the matter is we really should be concerned for the welfare of those poor indigenous people than the words of a high class spoiled brat.

For The Worry Wart In All of Us

Do you always wonder what would happen if your flash disk went missing. Do you always put important files on that drive? Well, you can always tie it to something but there is always the option of encryption! Several encryption programs cost several bucks but why spend when there is TrueCrypt. Works on Mac, Linux and Windows Vista/XP!
Main Features:

* Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk.

* Encrypts an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive or hard drive.

* Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication).

* Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.

* Provides two levels of plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password:

1) Hidden volume (steganography) and hidden operating system.

2) No TrueCrypt volume can be identified (volumes cannot be distinguished from random data).

* Encryption algorithms: AES-256, Serpent, and Twofish. Mode of operation: XTS.

download now! TrueCrypt

The Age of Manny Pacquiao

The odds were against Manny Pacquiao at least when the gambling odds were concerned. They figured Oscar Dela Hoya's height would have been a factor on the fight. After measuring everything, odds makers forgot to measure something, Manny's heart.

Karylle sang, the bell rang, 8 rounds passed and when the 9th round was supposed to begin, Dela Hoya just conceded to a better, younger fighter. 8 rounds of ass-whopping. Manny opened a boxing clinic in Vegas and Oscar was his student.

It seems the end of the road for Oscar Dela Hoya, but just as a boxer. He will still rack in millions in the next couple of years promoting fights and should he co-promote the coming fights of Manny, his loss would be moot. Ricky Hatton now sends messages that he wants Manny next, but so is Juan Manuel Marquez. Sadly Marquez is of no value to Pacquio now, his next couple of fights would be for money. Hence, he will redefine the word prize-fighter. Manny says he's good for 2-3 fights but I believe he can still do 10 more the way he improves his boxing game fight after fight. CONGRATULATIONS MANNY PACQUIAO!

DS Lovers prepare to buy this! Many of you have been disappointed about the rumors circling around about the fact that the old flashcarts will not be compatible with the new DSi. Well, the rumors are true but don't fret Acekard has released a flashcart compatible with the new Nintendo DSi. The flashcart has the usual flashcart fare like Auto-DLDI patching, SDHC support, Action Replay Cheats, Trimming, File manager and the like. What I love about the Acekard is the skin options and the awesome UI.

My first Sony experience is with my Sony Trinitron Television Set

One fateful day....
Growing up, we were really not that well off. The few enjoyments that we had was a Sony Trinitron TV that my grandfather gave us. It was not our first TV but it was more awesome than our old one because the old one has a dial to change channels and the Sony has buttons(and the buttons can be programmed)! Can you imagine buttons to change channels? To top it off the darn contraption had a remote control! That was the coolest thing I ever saw(at that time).

A week with our trusty telly

Since then, never was a day complete without turning the TV on. After school my mother would be hooked with her soaps and movie reruns this was the time my fragile mind would be bombarded by Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor dramas and the cheesiness of the Gabby-Sharon tandem but that was the better part of my TV afternoon. Once the clock strikes 4 my mother would automatically flick the remote and watch the man in the white suit hosting a show filled with adolescent kids. That TV was also our faithful weekend companion, the whole household would spend our Saturday night watching the Swiss-knife wielding McGuyver in his adventures. I can still remember spending many a Saturday mornings watching cartoons(in my opinion shows back then was much much better) like Dino Riders, Tiger Sharks, MASK and a whole lot more. Sundays is the only day that I cannot remember what show was on because of the fact that my parents was the only one who had power over that remote control on that day.

Early Geek Training
I don't know if my mother has techno-phobia or she does it inadvertently but to this day, she hates to figure our how gadgets work(just being a girl i guess). That TV also served as my tool to tech stuff as Mom always ask me to fix the reception on our TV(V-Hold adjustment) or if whenever we ran out of batteries I was her human remote(but to my chagrin the programmable buttons always gets messed up and I had to reprogram it again) and mind you I was not even 10 years old at that time. The Trinitron also was the budding partner of our NES and I had to put the RF switch on the back of the TV and me and my older brothers took turns in letting the fat guy with the moustache jump chasms, jump on mushrooms and climb flagpoles.

The Demise of The Trinitron

During the early 90s and after several coup attempts on the government, that TV was replaced by a larger television but was still used regularly. It was only when my brother accidentally plugged it in a 220 volt socket directly that it fell into its thinly smoked, burnt death. After, that we didn't threw it away but was relegated for the stock room for many years until finally it was thrown into the abyss that we call the garbage dump. I had many firsts on that TV and never will I forget the experiences I had with it. It definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First Motionflow 240Hz LCD TV: Bravia Z450 that can be a lovely replacement for that beloved Sony Trinitron TV.
