ASUS Donates Computers Via ADOC 2.0

900 students of Dr. Arcadio Santos High National High School – Sun Valley Annex in Paranaque City will benefit from the 40 computer sets donated by ASUS through the ADOC 2.0. What is ADOC you may ask?The APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) was initiated by Chinese Taipei in the 2003 APEC meeting in Bangkok to meet the goal of bridging digital divide among APEC Economies. It has collaborated with seven APEC economies – Chile, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines since its inception. In the second phase of the project, ADOC asked for the support of private companies, like ASUS, to help gather resources.

The students would really benefit from the new computer sets because they can now acquire new skills that will greatly help them in a now globally competitive world.

Toyota Develops Thought Controlled Wheelchair

Toyota has recently previewed a thought controlled wheelchair that monitors brain activity 125 milliseconds which prevents any lags. Stephen Hawking would love to get his ass on one of these.

According to The Christian Science Monitor:
"After training three hours a day for a week, the system is able to tailor its responses to a user’s tendencies. Imagine a hand or foot movement while wearing the cap, and the system triggers the corresponding response from the chair. Toyota claims up to 95 percent accuracy. As a failsafe, the user can puff out a cheek, triggering a sensor and stopping the chair."

The system would certainly help handicapped people and would spark innovations because of its universal applications.

Attack of The Hasbro Movies!

This year we the sequel to the smash hit Transformers will be released. Soon after Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra will open. Will the onslaught of movies based on cartoons cum action figures cease? Geekothon suggests viable plots for other Hasbro toys.

My Little Pony The Movie
Plot: Tired of being ridden by humans, all ponies from all over the world decided to call it quits. They retreat to an uncharted island where all seems well. The ponies were used to being pampered and domesticated so they do not know how to fend for themselves. They resort to cannibalism and formed tribes. Now a little pony will rise to the occasion and will be the key to the survival of their species.

Play-Doh: Molds of Evil
Plot: A cosmic phenomena gives sentience to the products of a clay factory. Once opened the blood thirsty beasts consume all on their sights. What can stop them? Water perhaps?

The Racist Camera

Nikon is supposed to be a Japanese company but I reckon they did not design the camera with Asians in mind. Talk about cultural sensitivity. The error message is downright racist!

And They Let Us Buy Alcohol Only When We Are 18

Glen gave me a heads up of this yesterday. Just when you thought that kids will always be kids you'll get hit by surprises like this.(click link below for story)

Alfie Patten is just 13 years old barely in his pubescence but have conceived a child with 15 year old Chantelle Steadman. This has caused an uproar worldwide especially the question of whether little Alfie is indeed the father of Maisie Roxanne.

Sister Talks

According to Alfie's step sister: “If it wasn’t for him, Alfie wouldn’t be in this situation. When Dad left it tore the family to pieces." (This in reference to the departure of their father for a 19-year-old friend of his stepdaughter)

"He’s good around kids and he always used to try and help out." She also said in a positive light.

Well as long as they be responsible parents and be a positive role model to their baby I'm all for it(if the story is indeed true).

Make Your Own Barack Obama Inaugural Speech

If you kept your eyes stuck on the boob tube for Obama's speech and was really impressed why not make your own. Sources say that he made his own speech for the historic event but all of us are too busy with stuff so why not try this.

A Young Man Bought A Ticket To Hell

Zachary Moir, 19 year old man was arrested because of attacking his mother with a taco. The mother tried to call the young man downstairs to eat dinner but to no avail, so she unplugged his XBOX but the man assaulted his mother.

According to Fox 35:
Dena Moir says she went upstairs and unplugged the game, that's when she says Zachary pushed her and called her a bad name. "I've been having trouble with him for awhile won't work, wont' go to school. "

“He went ahead and hit me with the taco and I got taco all over my shirt and kitchen. I’ve threatened to call police before. But anyway this time, I thought he went too far so I called police and he's in jail now.”

Moir says Zachary has tried to call several times, but she's not picking up the phone yet. She says she's going to let him sit in his jail cell in Volusia County for a few days to teach him a lesson.

Well we have to respect our parents, especially when they try to make you dinner. If you dislike them just get out of the freaking house. What a waste of food.

Premade Fanboy Letter

Well I confess I am sort of a fanboy and this cool prefab form will spare the fanboys some time in formulating their purist complaints. Just fill in the blanks with the appropriate words (which is indicated on the bottom of each blanks) and viola! you are ready to send your letter to the appropriate authorities.

The Emo Dissertation What is an Emo?

What the hell is an emo? Is it a movement? Is it a way of life? Is it an ideology? If yes then who the f**k started them?

Years ago I have been listening to Coheed and Cambria, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessionals and the like. During that time nobody had long bangs and tight, nut crushing pants. Was I an emo? I hope not. Here in the RP several teenagers and adults have joined that fad but do they really embody Emo Rock? I don't think so, for sure very few of them have even followed the music associated with that kind of music. Is the emo culture really about the fashion and not the music? I don't know I hope not.
