Tracy Isabel Borres

Some of the Beatitudes: "Blessed are the poor for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" "Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth"
Tracy Isabel Borres is the current "hot" topic of the filipino blogosphere but are her actions just a question of morality or lack of it? Why are we so appalled with what she privately wrote on her facebook account? Is it because we can relate to the Aetas and she cannot? Personally, I respect her lack of social awareness because she has the guts to say what she wants to say.
Exerpts from what she posted via Reyna Elena:
Thats just a few of what she wrote.
Her statement from Mike Abundo: Yes I am fully aware of the gravity and extent of what is happening right now, but thank you still. =)
Someone stole it from my CONTACTS only account. Sigh sigh. Thing is i know how rude and offensive it sounded but that was because I was expecting it to be read by my friends only who understood a kind of dark quirky humor of mine that really would make other people mad. It was a post meant to be comical for my friends to laugh at… (exaggerated rudeness and ditzy-ness, although still not with some truth to it of course, i am not excusing my insensitive usage of words but hey! its funny WITH/FOR my friends!) then of course it leaked. Sigh sigh.
I am just waiting for this to blow over (as typical ‘internet sensations’ usually do), because seriously. People, focus on real issues not on some spoiled sheltered girl. Haha.
if anything, i would rather you forward my reply to the email. =)
i mean really. there are so many ppl out there who are just so ready and willing to jump at every and any opportunity to add insult to injury bec it will be inconsequential to them anyway without knowing the premises or without any sense of discernment whatsoever. i mean betrayal for leaking my entry by someone i knew was bad enough right? so now its like i cracked a yo momma joke and everyone thinks i want to kill their momma! hahaha oh sigh sigh.
again, thank you for your concern. =)
With that statement the public can now be aware that she doesn't even know what she is talking about.Things can really get out of hand really fast but fact of the matter is what is said can never be taken back. It is really hard to appreciate the poor when you haven't even experienced having an empty wallet. In fairness to the girl she really would rather party than experience a day with such people and we cannot take that from her. Do we really have to blame her in the first place? She just said what she felt was funny its really easy to make fun of what we could not understand. Truth of the matter is we really should be concerned for the welfare of those poor indigenous people than the words of a high class spoiled brat.

God of War: A rip off?
A case has been filed against the makers of God of War regarding their best selling franchise. The case was filed by writer Jonathan Bissoon-Dath and artist Jennifer Barrette-Herzon regarding a script they submitted to Sony just when they released the video game
Included in the complaint are the following similarities between each work: • A champion saves Athens from destruction by an invading Spartan army sent by Ares. • The earthly conflict is mirrored on Mount Olympus as conflict between the gods. • The champion is chosen by Zeus and Athena to embark on a quest distinguished by relentless hand-to-hand combat. • The champion's family is murdered in their peaceful village. In both stories, the protagonist feels guilt for this, despite not being responsible, and seeks absolution through his quest. In the plaintiff's tale, he hides while his parents are hacked to death, while in God of War, the protagonist is tricked by Ares into killing his wife and child. • Kratos, the protagonist of God of War possesses "brutish and animalistic" qualities modeled on the plantiff's bad guy, Gaylon: they are both Spartan commanders who worship Ares fanatically at the stories' outset. Much is made of their rage and lack of self-control, claimed to be an original element contrary to the general presentation of Spartans as disciplined and even-keeled soldiers. • Kratos gets two glowing sword-like blades on chains fused to his wrists. Bissoon-Dath believes this is taken from a scene in his work where Zeus's hands "morph into two massive swords that glow like light sabers." • The destruction of the hero's village and family, which serves to initiate a "turning point" in the hero's life. (Readers, put your Joseph Campbell away and stop laughing.) • In both stories, the gods appear as expressionless statues around a pool of water, in which they see a vision of the Spartan commanders. The statues "morph" into life. • The plaintiff's work depicts a region called the Bottomless Valley. God of War has a Bottomless Chasm. Both appear at the same point in the story, and are traversed by rickety suspension bridges. • The gods, in both stories, try to resolve their disputes without resorting to destructive war. In particular, both stories contain a scene wherein Zeus admonishes Ares and Athena for their bickering. (Perhaps the complaint's author hasn't read The Iliad) • Both stories depict Satyrs unusually. In Greek myth, the complaint says, satyrs are portrayed as "playful" lovers of wine, women and boys. In both the Olympus stories and God of War, however, they are "sinister minions" and soldiers of Hades. • Both stories "redefine" gods as being mortal, in defiance of traditional myth. I really dont know if their accusations are true but one thing is for sure GOW is one badass game! (updates as soon as there are progress regarding the lawsuit).

Of Biased Blog Awards

A friend recently informed me about an award they are giving away in the upcoming Philippine Blog Awards sponsored by Level Up! Games, it was appropriately named Level Up! Gaming Blog Award and I was surprised about some of the finalists. I heard that GameOPS was nominated but failed to be a finalist. What the hell is a GameOPS? its one of the longest Filipino gaming website that became a gaming blog(due to changing times) and if it comes to credibility GameOPS is internationally mentioned.
It was mentioned by: Game Pro here PC World here Nintendo WII Fanboy here DS Fanboy here Max Console here TSUNAMIDUIT here
Some of the mentions was by exposing some serious and socially relevant issue and another was for exposing some AV idols as real gamers.
Im not judging any people but for educational purposes i grabbed some of Siopao Master's images for comparison. Here are some screenshots of the finalists' blogs:

I admit i am no judge but i'll let you guys be the judge to this atrocity here is the criteria:
1. Content - 80% The post itself and all its totality from the headline to the manner and style of writing is considered. Content and how the content was presented is critical. It is the total package, from the headline to the grammar and even to the effective use of images and sound, that is considered. Content for content sake is not enough it must be told in a manner that effectively conveys the idea and leaves an imprint in the readers’ mind.
2. Design and Usability - 20% This refers to aesthetic and usability features of the blog. Not only should it look pretty but it should also be functional and stress free to navigate within. Is it pretty and user-friendly?
If you were a boss and to hire an employee take all this into consideration, which blog will have a formidable and impressive resume and which would deserve a no thanks remark?Labels: internet, scandals
